Teacher Incentive Allotment
What is TIA?
- There are three levels of designation - Recognized, Master, Exemplary.
- National Board Certified Teachers automatically earn a Recognized designation.
- Designations stay with teachers for 5 years even if they change school districts.
- School districts will receive $3-$32K annually per designated teacher.
- High need campuses receive an additional multiplier for funding based upon teacher designation level.
- 90% of funding must be spent on teacher compensation on the campus where the designated teacher works.

Who is eligible?
No, special education teachers are not included in the Year 1 Eligibility group.
What counts?
During TIA meetings in August & September, the Local Committee determined the Student Growth Measure will count 60%, and the T-TESS Evaluation System will count 40%.
What Student Growth Measure?
During TIA meetings in August & September, the Local Committee determined STAAR as the Student Growth Measure (weight = 60%).
Which components of T-TESS?
During TIA meetings in September & October, the Local Committee determined 3 Walkthroughs, 1 Observation/Summative, and Proficiency in all 4 Domains and Dimensions (only Domains 2 & 3 averaged in data) as the T-TESS components (weight = 40%).
Remember, T-TESS levels and points are Distinguished = 5; Accomplished = 4; Proficient = 3; Developing = 2; Improvement Needed = 1.
