Granbury ISD Athletics is splitting the coaching duties for the Cross Country programs leading into the 2023 season. Jody Brown will be the head men’s Cross Country/Track & Field coach while Amber Ward will continue to serve as the head women’s Cross Country/Track & Field coach.
“We feel the need to concentrate on the growth of each specific program as our program numbers continue to grow,” said GISD Athletic Director Dwight Butler. “This will allow us to give maximum attention as we have the track programs and its success. Both coaches have done incredible things and we want them to have the opportunity to focus their attention on their individual programs and athletes as both cross country and track are extensions of each other. I know our coaches will do continue to do an excellent job leading our student-athletes.”
Granbury Cross Country will begin its season on August 26 for the Southwest Christian School Invitational in Fort Worth at 7:15 a.m.
