GHS UIL Academics places second at Joshua HS Invitational Meet

On Saturday, January 20, GHS competed at the Joshua High School UIL Academic Invitational Meet. We took 61 Academic students to compete. Students competed as teams and as individuals in different academic events including: Accounting, Calculator, Computer Applications, Computer Science, Copy Editing, Current Events, Journalism, Literary Criticism, Mathematics, Number Sense, Ready Writing, Science, Spelling & Vocabulary, and Social Studies.

 

All students did well!  Granbury High School placed 2nd overall, behind 6A Highland Park High School. 

The following students placed in their events:

SPELLING - Team 1st Place: Mann Vagashia, Preston Kirkland, Kensington Loving, Jocelyn Berry. Mann Vagashia - 2nd Place Individually

COMPUTER APPLICATIONS - 4th Place: Collin Yarbrough

ACCOUNTING - 4th Place: Taylor Dawley

SOCIAL STUDIES - 1st Place Team: Quinn King, Cameron Ward, Pete O’Carroll; Quinn King 1st Individual, Cameron Ward 5th Individual.

SCIENCE - Team 3rd Place: Konner Babiash, Lucas Hyde, Riley Morris.

Konner Babiash was Top Score Chemistry and 6th Place Individual
