At last night’s monthly board meeting, the following were recognized with Achievement Spotlights along with notable events:
• Baccus Elementary performed the Pledges at the meeting, led by Noah Barr, Peyton Ewing, Avery Miller, Austin Spann, Justin Williams, Truett Smith, Dillan Hernandez.
• STEAM Academy at Mambrino former students McKinsey Mendel, Sophia Bone, Elizabeth Daugherty were recognized for winning Lemonade Day over the summer. Their “Bluebonnet Lemonade” raised $1,103 and donated the funds to Hood County Animal Control and Mission Granbury.
• Granbury High School senior Lilly Tyler was awarded a prestigious national $25,000 college scholarship from the Horatio Alger Association, a nonprofit educational organization that honors the achievements of outstanding leaders.
• GHS MCJROTC was recognized for being a Naval Honor School for the 11th year in a row. Cadets recognized were: Cadet LtCol Kennedy Wells, Grace Larsen, James Barber, Caylynn Price, Fiona Doss, Viola Allen and Brantley Thrasher.
• Shottenkirk Seniors of the Month Quinn King and Brinley Bennett for September and October. Both students were awarded a $500 scholarship.
