Cole Bradley, a senior at Granbury High School, was named the WFAA Scholar-Athlete of the Week by Dallas sportscaster Joe Trahan.
A segment featuring Cole will broadcast on WFAA Channel 8 this Sunday, November 10 at 10 p.m. during “Sports Special with Joe Trahan.”
Cole plays varsity baseball for the Pirates and Coach Brad Eppler. As a junior, he was named Academic All-District and was the Pirates’ Defensive Player of the Year in 2022 on the JV Gold team as a freshman. When Cole isn’t playing baseball, he’s working with Pirate Production Studios as the Head of Sports Media, where he’s broadcasting, filming and producing GHS sporting events.
In addition to excelling on the field, Cole has committed his time to volunteer in the community. His community involvement includes Hood County Children’s Charities, Junior Optimist Club and Junior Leadership Granbury. Cole received the Junior Optimist Young Texan Award earlier this year. He’s also involved with the local youth as an umpire for the Granbury Athletic Association and a Lifeguard at the City of Granbury. In 2023, Cole was the recipient of the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Ambassador Award.
Academically, Cole is currently ranked 14th overall in the GHS Class of 2025. He is on the Superintendent’s Student Leadership Council and National Honor Society and was VP of Finance for FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America). Cole will attend Oklahoma State University in the fall to study Sports Media.
