Doing Business with Granbury ISD

School districts are required to purchase under specific guidelines established at the federal, state and local level.  Laws and regulations related to procurement can be found in, but not limited to, Texas Education Code, Texas Local Government Code, Texas Government Code, Texas Revised Civil Statutes, Texas Occupations Code, Code of Federal Regulations, Texas Attorney General Opinions and local policy. 

 
Purchasing Methods
 
Granbury ISD may choose to process a district bid or proposal or make purchases through an inter local contract that has been approved by the Granbury ISD Board of Trustees.  Currently, Granbury ISD may participate in contracts awarded through the following entities.

Services Provided on District Property
 
For services provided on district property, Granbury may require the vendor to provide proof of general liability coverage, auto coverage, and worker’s compensation coverage before the services may begin.
 
The vendor will be required to add Granbury ISD as the Certificate Holder and may be required to add Granbury ISD as an additional insured for the specific project.
 
Payment & Performance Bonds – Public Work Projects
 
For public works projects, payment and performance bonds shall be required as follows.  A payment bond on projects that exceed $25,000 in cost.  Payment and performance bonds if the project exceeds $100,000.  For all bonds in excess of $100,000, the surety issuing the bonds must hold a certificate of Authority from the U.S Department of Treasury or have obtained reinsurance for any liability in excess of $100,000 from a U.S, Department of Treasury listed re-insurer. (Texas Government Code 2253)
 
No work can begin on a public work project until the bonds have been provided to Granbury ISD and their authenticity verified by the district.
