Director of Curriculum & Instruction Stacie Brown

Stacie Brown became the director of curriculum and instruction in April 2021.

Brown was the principal at the STEAM Academy at Mambrino (2015-2021) and Brawner Intermediate School (2009-2015).

The curriculum director began her career in 1994 as a teacher at Springdale Elementary School in Fort Worth. She joined GISD in 1999 as an instructional specialist at Acton Elementary School and later served as the school’s assistant principal for two years. Prior to taking the helm at Brawner in 2009, Brown worked in the curriculum department – first as an all-level math and science coordinator and then as an elementary coordinator serving all subject areas. 

Brown earned a Master of Education in educational administration from Tarleton State University, and she received her bachelor’s degree from Radford University in Virginia. She was named Teacher of the Year for Springdale Elementary in 1998. Brown also received the Sue German Award for Excellence in 2005 and 2009 as recognition of her achievements as a trainer for the Abydos International writing program.
