Elementary Veterans Day Programs
Elementary campuses held programs throughout the month of November to show appreciation for veterans and military families as part of Military Appreciation Month. The programs included student performances of patriotic music, speeches, poetry, and family breakfasts honoring veterans. Students created meaningful artwork to display in building hallways for families in honor of military appreciation.
Community Veterans Day Program at Granbury High School
Granbury High School students hosted a community celebration in honor of veterans. The program included choir and band performances and a guest speaker.
In February 2023, Granbury Middle School welcomed a Holocaust Survivor to speak to the students at a school assembly. The speaker's survival story inspired students to live a life filled with hope and gratitude while providing practical life-application. The raw discussion of the historical events helped bridge the discussion of the present-day impact of Veterans and reinforce the campus's goal of bringing awareness to the sacrifice of military families, both in the past and in the present.
Ceremonies & Celebrations
Brawner Elementary School had a campus-wide ceremony for the School Resource Officer Steven Fowler when he returned from employment in Africa in September 2023.
The Little Buccaneers Staff Childcare Center hosted a surprise welcome home ceremony for the family of a district employee in September 2022. The student production studio, Pirate Production Studios, also created a video for the family to remember the special day.
