Director of Human Resources Wes Jones

Wes Jones became the Granbury ISD human resources director in July 2016. 

Jones is a former superintendent, having served both in Chireno (2001-2005) and Spring Hill (2006-2014).  He began his career in 1985 as a junior high teacher and coach in Freer and later worked for schools in Etoile and Pollock before becoming an assistant principal in 1994 for Central Heights ISD in Nacogdoches.  Jones was an elementary principal in Garrison prior to taking the helm of the Chireno school district. 

A native of Nacogdoches, Jones attended Angelina College in Lufkin before receiving his bachelor’s degree from Pan American University (now part of the University of Texas system) in Edinburg.  He later earned a Master of Education from Stephen F. Austin State University, where he also completed his mid-management and superintendency certifications.
